Mike Webb was born in 1937 in Henley-on-Thames. Webb studied architecture at the Regent Street Polytechnic in London. He was a founding member of the 1960's Archigram Group, a collection of six young architects rebelling against what they saw as an English architectural scene on life support. Through the pages of a magazine and journal, the group produced highly colored images of a new architecture that would stand alongside the space capsules, the inflatable structures and the lifestyles of a new generation. For the last eleven years, an exhibition of the group’s work has been touring the world. Originating in Vienna, New York in 1998, Seoul, Korea in 2002, and was mounted in London in 2004.Webb came to the United States in 1965 to teach at Virginia Tech, and has since taught architecture at Rhode Island School of Design, Columbia University, Barnard College, Cooper Union, University of Buffalo and Princeton University. Currently, he teaches drawing for Cooper Union's School of Architecture.He has also put on many exhibitions in Europe and America. His latest exhibition, Two Journeys, opened in the spring of 2008. This exhibition was dedicated to his first year students at The Cooper Union. He remarked on suspending the fall semester learning about them through conversations and their drawings. The Two Journeys exhibition gave Webb an opportunity for the students to learn about him and his work. The exhibit was mounted and read like the pages of a book. It centered around two main themes (1) a train of thought deriving from the Reyner Banham article A Home is not a House (1965) and (2) a study of linear perspective projection.

答：作为一种城市发展的可能性，这只是一种尝试性质的可能，因为存在高密度，20ACRES/8,000 PEOPLE，因而采用这种垂直的分层结构，虽然每层之间有很大的相似性质，但是又有着自身发展的原则，从下往上，城市空间的属性: PUBLIC SPACE/ INDUSTRIAL-----MIX-USED/COMMERICAL/ENTERTAINMENT-----------SCHOOL/RESIDENTIAL-----------COMMUNITY GARDEN

而所有的这些NUMBER根据城市VOLUM和ATTRIBUTES研究的具体数字推导。

问：你们还需要继续探讨城市的结构，尽量完善；你们所表达的TRANSPORTATION只是一种可能性，有没有其他的可能性？为什么选择这样的城市体系？ 如何更加清晰化不同结构之间的关系？

来到美国最大的收获是学会GROUP WORK，在我们的小组里，Jai 负责我们整个工作的框架，但是他从来不会把自己的观点强加给任何人，他总是会耐心地听每个组员的意见，而我们大家的IDEA最终融合在一起；Sung I,Ryan, 和我负责DIAGRAM的制作和模型的后期处理，Dennis 和Sue 负责另外一个大模型的制作。没有其他组的相持不下和争吵斗气，面对问题的时候，我们一起互相鼓励，六个人仿佛像一个人一样，为着一个共同的DESIGN而努力。
Sung I 说也许是我们每个人都尊重这个团体，每个人都DROP了自己的固执，我们才走了过来，坚持到最后一刻；
Dennis在最后通宵的一个晚上说：Let's start to build our last model tomorow, now all of us should go bed, we have to make sure when we begin, we will try our best doing it! We have done so much work, we will never let it gone.
